We like to think that the Internet and its programming languages are made for everyone. But surround them with a powerful “web development industry” and the tools, technologies and education required to build the future of the web become a literal walled garden, inaccessible to many societal and economic minority groups.
Events like Front-Trends and the web development industry must be mindful to champion openness and inclusivity, so we’ve created the Equality Scholarship to give more people a chance to attend Front-Trends who would otherwise be unable.
The Equality Scholarship provides free entry and financial assistance to people from underprivileged, underrepresented or low-income backgrounds. It supports high-achieving, community-driven people who love the web with everything they need to attend Front-Trends—a free conference ticket, supportive resources, travel expense coverage and lodging.
